Life Expectancy Declines for the Second Consecutive Year [US]
- Between 2019 and 2021, U.S. life expectancy declined 2.7 years from 78.8 to 76.1, the lowest age since 1996.
- The decline is largely attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic, overdose deaths, and heart disease.
