Generative AI models like GANs and diffusion models create images by transforming inputs (like noise or corrupted images) into natural images. UC Berkeley and Google researchers have introduced “Idempotent Generative Networks” (IGNs), which aim to generate images from any input in ideally one step. IGNs act as a “global projector” to align any input with the target image distribution, not confined to particular inputs.
